“Healing happens through deepening layers of stillness”

— Howard Evans, craniosacral therapist and teacher

What is craniosacral therapy?

Biodynamic craniosacral therapy is a simple, gentle and non-invasive touch therapy which works with the inherent health and self-organising intelligence of the body.

Present, engaged and diagnostic touch enables subtle adjustments in the tissue and fluid membranes, as well as the energetic and emotional layers.

The role of the therapist is to facilitate a reorientation to health through initiating and supporting the body’s self-healing mechanisms.

This work supports the unravelling of deeply held somatic patterning, which when worked with in conjunct with a psychotherapeutic approach, can facilitate long-lasting change.

I offer this work as my primary healing modality for its depth and simplicity. It works by orienting to and enhancing the ever-present health of the system, which aligns with my therapeutic approach.

What does a session look like?

A session begins with a conversation. There is the invitation to share any present challenges or intentions.

Lying on the table, fully clothed, you receive a series of ‘holds’. This is subtle, engaged, diagnostic touch areas of the body, including the cranium and the sacrum.

You may notice a down-regulation of the nervous system amongst other shifts. The body may make subtle movements and adjustments. Emotions, thoughts, feelings and memories may arise. The invitation is simply to let go.

After 50 minutes, you are gently invited back to sit, either to share words or to remain in silence.

Who is it for?

Craniosacral therapy can be deeply supportive for those experiencing stress-related illnesses, sleep issues, chronic pain, chronic illness, physical injury and digestive issues.

It can be particular beneficial to those feeling ‘stuck’ with talk therapies.
